Beautiful Charlie!

Please contact Denise (tjengr@msn.com) for more information about this pet.

NOTE: Charlie is being fostered in St Petersburg, FL, and is not a
candidate for shipping.: If you can drive to pick him up and think this
dog might be right for you, please read our requirements to adopt
below, before contacting his foster home with any additional questions
you might have about Charlie, and a few sentences about your family ie,
number and kind of pets, human family members, housing and working
hours, etc.

Charlie
is a 5 year old "hairy hairless" Chinese Crested. He is on a special
diet because he has formed crystals in his urine in the past. He needs
to remain on the diet for the rest of his life, to make sure that he
does not develop any more crystals.

He is neutered and up to date on all of his shots.

Like
all hairless dogs, he needs regular baths to keep his skin healthy, and
a light cover in the summer so he doesn't sunburn. He also likes to
wear a little shirt if it's cold in the winter. Charlie is housebroken,
but he is kept crated at night and when we are not able to watch him
because he did mark a few times when he first came to rescue and saw
the other dogs. It would be best for him to continue his crate training
after he goes to his forever home, and also to wear a belly band until
he understands he's not to potty inside in his new home. Being an only
dog will help enormously with this.

Charlie
does not like cats, and he can be pushy around other dogs. He will bark
quite a bit when he is out in the yard, but that behavior can be
discouraged if it's monitored when he's outside at his new home.

Charlie
will do best in an adult environment without young children, and as an
only dog. Charlie is a very nice companion when he is with his people,
and any problems he has in his foster home are undoubtedly aggravated
by his insecurities from feeling he has to compete with other dogs for
attention.

Charlie
has great potential and deserves a wonderful home. He needs someone who
will take the time to continue working with him on commands and give
him the individual attention he wants and deserves.
