Proctor & Gamble
Posted On 02/17/2008 12:28:03 by papillonbabycub

Ok..I am not very happy with this company cause not only do they test on animals...but they test animals for silly products such as pet food or washing powder!

My human told me Proctor & Gamble are well known for some things humans use called detergents and soaps, The company also produce a large range of products in human fur care, cosmetics, perfumes, human personal hygiene, laundry care, snack food, paper and human lady hygiene, as well as pet food for doggies & cats. The brands of Proctor & Gamble produce include: Ariel, Daz, Fairy, Max Factor, Olay, Pantene Pro-V, Herbal Essences and Head and Shoulders.

Proctor & Gamble already admit that animals such as: guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, rats and mice are among the animals they used in what P & G call their 'product safety research'. Us doggies & Cats have also been used in pet food experiments!   What I can not under stand is other pet food producers do not do this...so why do Proctor and Gamble?

The reason...£££££/$$$$$$ - The mean Proctor & Gamble people test their products on the animals to promote and get the chemical ingredients they have on to the market. Such will allow P&G to claim that their new product  - eg: hair dye, skin cream or washing powder is 'new and improved', my human said that this method is done in the hope of increasing sales!

My human says that some people that fight for the rights of animals called Uncaged state on their web site that these nasty humans of P &G cause pain and injury to the animals by the horible chemicals from the silly products they produce as well as many of the poor little animals suffering because of a lack of basic care. The Uncaged humans advise that the crulty including:

Over a thousand hamsters, mice and rats forced to inhale tiny, 'nano-sized' particles

Mice genetically-engineered to create new ways of testing ingredients in cosmetic and cleaning products

Animals injured in hair care and fabric softener skin irritancy tests

Repeated painful and lethal skin allergy tests on guinea pigs and mice

Other Proctor & Gamble tests include:

  • an acute toxicity test where dogs were force fed large amounts of a cleaning chemical by stomach tube.
  • cancer and toxicity tests on rats and mice of optical brighteners and other washing power ingredients.
  • long-term poisoning tests in animals for colouring agents.
  • 71 mice were repeatedly force-fed a synthetic musk fragrance by tube.

If you wish to support the group were my human recieved this information, please visit: http://www.uncaged.co.uk/default.htm. The group called uncaged has a very nice site that is also very informative and I'm sure would welcome any humans who genuinely care about animals like myself!
